CoverColorado
CoverColorado is a non-profit entity created
by the Colorado Legislature to provide comprehensive major medical
insurance for eligible Colorado residents who, because of a pre-existing
medical condition, are unable to get coverage from private insurers. In
addition, CoverColorado serves as the states alternative mechanism for
individuals who are eligible under the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act, otherwise known as HIPAA. CoverColorado offers a
statewide PPO plan, with five deductible levels to choose from, using the
Sloans Lake Network.
AM I eligible
for CoverColorado?
Colorado residents who do not qualify for
Personal Advantage may be eligible to participate in CoverColorado, a
state-sponsored guaranteed-issued health care coverage program. In
addition, you may be eligible for CoverColorado now if you have a total of
at least 18 months of creditable health coverage without a break in
coverage for more than 62 days at any time (including now) and your most
recent creditable coverage was under a group health plan. CoverColorado
does not impose preexisting conditions or limitations of coverage.
